Update. - Germany

Well, with everything going on I haven't had a chance to update this blog. Now that I finally have a few minutes, I thought I would.

So we made it home to Germany safe and sound. Jaxon has taken to his new home with lots of excitement... okay mostly its just the big tv. Anyways... all the cleaning is caught up and we have our basic groceries. When we first got here the truck was dead, so I had to get a new battery. Thankfully, I have awesome friends who jumped me to get to the car center. I got our phone and internet hooked back up and now we are just waiting on the arrival of Jeremy. =] We both caught this stupid cold going aroud the base. Luckily, Jaxon isn't too bad. He has some mild stuffiness, but thats it. Once Jeremy is home we will probably get decorations up and Jaxon's bedroom painted. I am still waiting on most of his packages. Today we might go and try getting our Tricare changed over and probably a quick stop at the post office and commissary. We aren't doing anything too exciting since we are both sick, I am trying to take it easy.

Well thats all for now. Just a quick update on how things are going. =]

Our Daily Routine

8:30: Jaxon wakes up and eats. (Diaper change)
9:00: Play time on his mat (tummy time)
10:00-10:45/11:00: Morning Naptime.
10:45/11:00: He gets his diaper changed and eats.
11:30: Playtime on the mat, in bouncer, etc. (errands done now if I have any)
1:00: Diaper change, Jaxon eats, and takes another nap.
1:45: Wakes up, diaper changed (again.lol)
2:00: Playtime
3:00: Jaxon eats, then sits in his bouncer and plays.
3:30: Take a walk (If its nice out.)
4:00: Mommy time =] (diaper)
5:00: Eats, and then a Visit with Memere and Poppop
5:30: Playtime
6:30-7:00: Evening Nap (diaper)
7:00: Eats and Movie time with Mommy
8:45: Bath (obviously new diaper)
9:00: Playtime
9:15: Eats (check diaper before he eats)
9:30: Bedtime =]

BED HEAD..

This child does not do mornings lol.

Yesterday morning... at 10 am ... "Jaxon, are you ready to get up?" His reply?.. looks at me burried his head in the pillow and shut his eyes... "I guess that's a no. You're a bum lol" He opens his eyes, smiles at me.. and goes  back to sleep. Finally getting up aroudn 1030 am. We had a good day yesterday, although he slept most of it. I was able to finish packing everything. =]Last night we played a bunch and then bath time and bed.

This morning...
He was in his bed all night AND back in his bed after his first wake up. (Normally thats when I bring him in with me.) This morning was nice we got up for the day again around 1030. He was snoozing while I got to talk to Holly. I really should start getting my shower in the morning while he sleeps in. Right now I put it off til after lunch and then we run errands... but I need to start night time showers anyway with the weather getting cold.  ..Anyways... He got fed and a fresh diaper and now he is playing on his playmat. He loves that thing! He talks to all the toys and tells them about his life lol. Well it's 11am now and I am watchin Dr OZ while I get some food. Since he is playing.

Misc. updates... he eats every 2 hours...sometimes 2.5. He can roll tummy to back, but not back to tummy (yet) . . He is awake for longer periods while he plays. He also spits up a lot more. It's still not a lot, just more than he used to. He eats about 2.5 - 3 oz at a time. So I think its the times where he tries to eat more or if he doesnt burp well enough..etc. But yeah thats Jaxon now, he turns 2 months tomorrow. =] He is playing .. so cute.

Halloween Party and Lazy Sunday

Well last night was the Halloween party. Our friends Todd & Jess came early to look at a bunch of the baby stuff that will be hand me downs. I am so glad to have found a good home for it all. =] We had fun at the party. Everyone wanted to see Jaxon (of course). No big drunken stunts this year. It was done before midnight. Either way, we had a blast. Good food. Good people. We came in around 930 for his bedtime routine and all. I think it was too much excitement for him though. He didn't fall asleep until midnight and woke up at 4am, 6am, 8am, and we got up at 10.... Not his normal. But oh well. Anyways... this morning we were lazy bums all morning. I didnt even get a shower until 2pm lol. He took a great nap, like 1.5 hours this afternoon. He likes sleeping on his stomach. He has been playing in his swing a lot too. He loves it. =] He can roll over from stomach to back and almost back to stomach. Now its dinner time and I am helping my mom study for her EMT class.

Happy Birthday to Phil !!

The title has nothing to do with this post, it just happens to be my brother's birthday. lol. Anyways... I will start off with last night and then get to today. So yesterday was boring... didn't get much done. But I did get the bedroom cleaned. I still have to fold the laundry and take out the trash but thats not too much so its all good. Ummm... as far as other things go, we watched some SOA last night and played with the fish. I took Jax outside to play with Poppop and the dogs. They love those tennis balls. We were lookin at the garage making sure its close to ready since the big annual Halloween party is this Saturday! I can't wait. I will be a bag of skittles and Jaxon will be a tootsie roll. (His dad picked it out =] ) We came in after all that and I let him play while I did a couple videos and then we gave him a bath and came back downstairs. I put him in his bouncer while I ate some dinner, and he went right to sleep (around 9pm). So I wrapped him in the swaddler and put him to bed. He did great. He woke up around 5 to eat and then back to bed til 830. So I count it as sleeping through the night, since it was 8 hours. We just took a morning nap after lol. He is in his bouncer while I got breakfast..and fell back to sleep. He is such a lazy child in the morning. I love it though. He takes after both his parents. =] Well I am STILL waiting on one of my packages from Walmart that said it would get here on TUES! =[ Frustrating....  Tomorrow is Jaxon's 8 week apt. =] I get to find out how much he weighs! I am so curious. lol Cant wait! Then Sat is my skills class in the morning so Poppop and Memere are babysitting for me. Then the party that night... and Sunday.. who knows....

Well I am going to stop writing. I will upload some videos on youtube later... I like doing them, its fun.

Hump Day

Well, its Wednesday. Last night was good. After Jaxon's bath he sat with Memere while I weighed and measured the boxes to get an estimate for shipping cost. Well for the first 21 boxes..its $243.75. I still have 7 more boxes to add in. It is a lot but not as high as I expected, so that is nice. Jaxon fell asleep around 11pm last night and again woke up at 530. That is 3 mornings in a row right at 530. He must be one of those kids with a built in alarm clock. It's okay though, because he eats and gets in with me and we snuggle/sleep for another few hours. Eventually he will finish sleeping in his bed. But for now it is nice mommy cuddle time. He fell back asleep though and woke up at 730 to eat. Then fell back to sleep, only this time he was put down to sleep alone cus I got up for the day. Its 9am now and he is sleeping... but it soudns like he is starting to wake up. He is such a lazy bone in the morning... just like Mommy. =] No real plans today... might go Christmas shopping..  Only 1 month before we head back home. I am so excited. Yep he is up, 0902. =] I might get some wrapping paper and extra gifts today. I need to wrap them all and have them ready for when we leave. That way I dont have to ship anything.  Well, I am going to stop writing and see what little man is up to. He is awake but not fussing..just laying there looking around lol.

Just another day...

So this morning was better than yesterday. Little man slept from 10pm until 530 this morning. I got him up, changed him and fed him. Then he got in bed with me and we snuggled up watching tv and dozing in/out for a few more hours. We got up for good at 830. I had my doctors apt today to look into birth control options. The apt went well, I go back in 2 weeks for placement. Then I grabbed lunch and came home. Little man went down for a nap .. that he just woke up from... a whopping 15 minutes lol. But he is playing in his pack n' play bed on his tummy and not fussing, so I am letting him be so he can play and work on those muscles. Today I should be getting 2 packages which I am excited about. I get the breathable mesh  bumper for his crib, some nursing tanks, and my new balboa (sp?) nursing cover! I am psyched about that. I am still trying to get my FRL to work on getting our spaceA memos... but not having much luck there. Wish me luck =] No plans for today though. Just working on packing up and hanging out at home. I am working on getting a better routine in tact for Jaxon now that he is old enough to have one. He is getting on a good nighttime sleep schedule and feeding.. its just the daytime naps that vary day to day. I figure it will come with age as he grows. After all, he is only 7 weeks. lol As far as how he is doing...he is holding his head steady most of the time. He can hold his pacifier and 1 or 2 toys for a few seconds before he drops it, so his grip is getting a little better. (still a ways to go but not bad for his age) He has rolled over stomach to back a few times over the past few weeks but does not normally do it. He likes being on his stomach.  He is much better at nursing and LOVES the sound of my dad's fish tank. HE also had a great time playing with grandpa last night while his grandma and I made an awesome Halloween cake. It was fun. I do cakes every Monday night for the firehouse. The guys thought it looked so good they didnt want to eat it. lol. Luckily it tasted just as good. Little man is back to sleep.. he cracks me up. Well thats all for now, I will include some pics of the cake =]

Long Day Ahead...

Well last night was great. Jaxon slept from 930pm til 530 this morning. He ate at 530 and went back to sleep. Although I will admit he was in my bed..the house was cold. Anyways.. We got a wake up call at about 630-645 am...from my mother letting me know they are waiting for the ambulance to take my father. GREAT! So I had a jacket, socks, and shoes for me and a blanket for Jax and was outside in less than 2 minutes. So my mom went with him and I will pick them up later. He is doing a little better now but still in the ER. Still waiting on news from the hubby and I got the firehouse cake tonight.... long day ahead...

Great Nights Sleep =]

Well, Jaxon was a zombie yesterday, sleeping 90% of the time in/out from 3pm til about 7pm. Around 8 I gave him a bath and got him down for bed. He didn't fight at all...for once. He was happy in his own bed. So I finally fell asleep aroud 11 and he woke up about 3am to eat. He fell right back asleep until 8 this morning. =] So here I am well rested...with nothing to do today. Go figure lol. Well now that I am up and showered, he is playing on his tummy.. and I guess I will find some breakfast.  Just wanted to share how well he did last night. Not bad for being a day shy of 7 weeks old =]

Deployment Diary

Day 247 of Deployment
Just another day...

Today is a pretty boring day but it is an average day for us. Last night was a rough night for Jaxon. He is 6 weeks and 4 days old today. He usually sleeps through the night, but last night was up every hour to eat. Gotta love growth spurts. =] So this morning we got outta bed late, probably around 9:30. I got a shower while he played in his bed. After I was done getting a shower, dressed, etc. Jaxon got changed and dressed for the day. I fed him while eating my breakfast and then we ran out to Target. The plan was to do some Christmas shopping, but I gave up since our store was out of all the things I needed... lol. Anyway, we came home and ate lunch and Jax played a little while I checked email and facebook. Then I put him down for a nap and started writing this blog. He just fell asleep about 2 minutes ago, so I am going to try and get some laundry and cleaning done. My brother is coming to visit from college this weekend so I wanna make sure the washer is free incase he needs it.

Introduction

Just to give you an insight to my family situation, here are 10 quick facts about us.

1. I started dating my husband in 2006, when I was 15 and he was 16.
2. We are both from Southern Maryland.
3. My husband and I both graduated high school in 2008, when he was 18 and I was 16.
4. He was a volunteer firefighter and I was a volunteer EMT. (We still volunteer when we are in town.)
5. He joined the Army as a combat medic in Feb. 2009.
6. We got married in Oct. 2009.
7. He got orders for us to live in Germany from 2009-2012.
8. He got deployment orders for Afghanistan and left when I was 10 weeks pregnant. (Feb 2011)
9. I returned home to Maryland to have the baby.
10. He got home for his R&R (deployment leave) 8 hours before I went into labor. (perfect timing)
